Martin Ince is a journalist with a broad base of experience in science, technology, education, policy, the environment and other fields.

He was on the staff of the Times Higher Education Supplement from 1989 to 2002, successively as science correspondent, news editor and deputy editor. In 1994 he launched the paper on the World Wide Web.

Before joining the THES he was features editor of The Engineer magazine and technology editor of Engineering Today, and deputy editor of Freight Management magazine.

Martin’s work has also appeared in The Times, the New Scientist, the Observer, The Financial Times, The Economist, Astronomy Now, BBC Sky at Night magazine, Science et Vie, The Independent (Dublin), The Australian, Straits Times, University World News, European Space Report (former UK correspondent) and many others. Peer-reviewed journals in which his work has appeared include Prometheus and the Cambridge Journal of Education.

He has made over 100 radio and TV appearances.

Martin is a member of the Association of British Science Writers and of the National Union of Journalists. He was finance director of the World Conference of Science Journalists in 2009 and is a member of the finance committee of the World Federation of Science Journalists.
