I provide media training to clients which have included the European Commission, the Universities of Leicester, Reading and Ulster, the ESRC and its programmes, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, the Medical Research Council, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Alzheimer Forum (Switzerland), the Polish research agency FNP, the AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance), European Grid Infrastructure and London Councils. I carry out most of this work with a broadcaster colleague, Wendy Barnaby. We have an excellent record in helping people who need to explain complex and controversial issues simply and to a mass audience. Contact us to discuss your training needs.
Catherine Gater, dissemination manager of the European Grid Infrastructure in Amsterdam said: “Martin and Wendy’s media training course was an excellent fit to our needs as a new organisation. We found that the course helped us to understand how to target our messages at the media better, and how to present what we are doing in compelling ways. Also invaluable was the opportunity to receive training from professional journalists in radio and TV interview techniques and to get some real experience in front of the camera and behind the mike. I and my colleagues all collected some very helpful advice on the best ways to present ourselves and our work – it helped to allay our fears and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!”
